I&#8217;ve been quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/itre.cis.upenn.edu\/~myl\/languagelog\/\">the Language Log<\/a>&#8230; I commented on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.words-worth.de\/robin\/2004\/07\/would-real-john-doe-please-step.php\">a list of John Doe<\/a> names (at Carob (a blog)) in different languages where the Finnish version &#8220;Matti Meik\u00c3\u00a4l\u00c3\u00a4inen&#8221; was spelled wrong. Now when I was reading <abbr title=\"Language Log\">LL<\/abbr> my name was there! (And a LINK to me!) *faint* From <a href=\"http:\/\/itre.cis.upenn.edu\/~myl\/languagelog\/archives\/001287.html\">a post<\/a> by Mark Liberman:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote\"><p>Minna from all-things-me added a more complete and believable correction of the Finnish name:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>just letting you know that the Finnish version is a bit &#8220;off&#8221;. It&#8217;s actually Matti Meik\u00c3\u00a4l\u00c3\u00a4inen<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Minna should know, being actually Finnish, but the fact is that I should have see (sic) the vowel harmony problem too. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is like&#8230; I don&#8217;t know&#8230; Robbie or <abbr title=\"David Duchovny\">DD<\/abbr> said (not past tense, just an &#8220;if&#8221;) my name&#8230; *happy shivers* If I had foreseen this I would&#8217;ve made my comment more linguistic and elegant. <img src=\"https:\/\/www.all-things-me.net\/blog\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_mrgreen.gif\" alt=\":mrgreen:\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is really really really spooky.
